Busey Strikes Again!

So the ultimate Daffy Bastard, Gary Busey, struck at the Oscars. (First of all why the hell was he even invited? You do it to yourself Oscars. You asked for his batshit crazy to rain down on your awards, and rain it did.) So, above is his attack on Jennifer Garner and Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. Please to enjoy. My favorite part is Ryan blowing him off by saying "I'll see you later at the party. You know the one." lol Good times. Seriously I loved this moment! I feel so bad for Jennifer Garner. No one should have to deal directly with the Busey if they haven't been warned and had ample time to prepare themselves. lol So then yesterday Ryan had Busey on his radio show to try and explain what happened. Here is what the profit Gary had to say.
Well, what I wanted to do was when I first saw you working, I
said, "Who is this guy?" And I said, "Oh God, this isn't going to work." And
then you captured me. You are to me, when you're working, an innocent champion
of honesty. Your heart has a way to embrace the truth in your delivery without
looking like you are reading a script. Everything looks spontaneous. What
spontaneity is—spontaneity comes from an invisible idea that is there before the
creation began. And you have that naturally, so I just wanted to pay you a
compliment. But I didn't know you were in the middle of an interview, I was just
moving through there.
Mmm Hmm. "spontaneity comes from an invisible idea that is there before the creation began." lol Classic Busey. He also said this later in the interview.

"And I know you must remember to chase and catch your dreams. If you don't, your
imagination will live in empty spaces, and that is nowhere land."

Totally. Hang in there GB. Oh, and my thoughts are with you Jennifer Garner. Be strong.

Not-So-Hot at Oscars 2008

This year there were a few people that weren't looking so great. My runners-up include Jennifer Hudson, who brought her big-white-boob-shelf with her. Julie Christie who designed her short cocktail dress herself. Hmmm. That isn't a good start. Then she wears those see-through gloves! GAG! Then there is Ellen Page. I don't get her. She makes me not want to see Juno. She is such a fucking sour-puss. She looks like what I imagine her personality to be. Boring, serious and blah. The absolute worse of all though I am awarding to a couple. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Day Lewis are like a red carpet circus act. Check them out. Brown shoes Daniel? Really? Then, red bows + big chest jewels + flowered lace + black and white checkered shoes = Oscars! No. Wrong. Wow... so so wrong.

Best Dressed Oscars 2008

I really enjoyed the Oscars this year, and I'm so happy that No Country For Old Men won so many awards. It was by far the best movie and deserved to win.

As for the fashion, it was a good year. Lots of color and that's always nice to see. The few I've chose to cover here seem to be in all red, but there were a lot of ladies that looked fantastic. Jessica Alba looked beautiful too. For me Katherine Heigl, for me, was hands down the best dressed. When she came out to present she looked A-MAZING! My other favorites were Heidi Klum, Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner.

There Will Be Daniel Day Lewis

Wow, I have seen A LOT of movies in the past few days. Some Oscar related and some not.

Hot Fuzz: YYYGood times. It was more of an action movie than I thought it would be. Good movie.
The Reaping: YYYWow. This was a lot better than I thought it would be. I really liked it.
Resident Evil Extinction:YY It would probably have been better if it hadn't been so long since I saw the last one. It was good. Not great, but good. It did seem as though this will not be the last RE movie coming our way.
The Night Listener: Y It was ok. It's a good story, (based on a true story) but it was just a little slow.

Now for the Oscar movies:
Atonement: YRiiiiiigght. So, it started off really good. James McAvoy is hot and Keira is beautiful so they make a really nice looking couple and they had great chemistry. However, there was a lot that could have been edited out (the never ending war/beach scene for example!) and it felt like the movie lasted for hours. I was really disappointed. I really thought I was going to like it in the beginning. It really is too bad that the last half of the movie ruins it. (To be fair my Mom and my GMa were with me and they both loved it. Whatever.)

There Will Be Blood: YYYYShould have been called "There Will Be Daniel Day Lewis". This was a great movie, but had it not been for DDL it would not have been nearly as good. He is such an amazing actor and that is a good thing for this film. He is in almost EVERY scene. Other than the preacher in the movie hardly anyone else even has lines in the movie. It is an entirely DDL driven vehicle. It really felt like a play to me, in the sense that it was so one-character-focused. What a great character. He is such a complex guy, and I liked the fact that I didn't hate him through the whole movie. I hoped for him to be a better man, and had faith that he had good intentions deep down inside. So, watching this character go through his life was quite the journey. The score was a little much. It felt as though the music was a character in the film sometimes, responsible for telling us something about the story. The trouble is that I'm not sure it did that very well. It was so dramatic and grating at points in the movie when nothing was happening at all. Then at times when such drama was happening with the characters there would be no music at all. Just silence. It was different. This music almost ruined the movie for my Mother, and I can see why. It didn't bother me as much as her, but it was definitely a strange choice for the movie I think. Anyway, I think DDL will win the Oscar and he should. He was amazing. See this movie for his performance alone.

No Country For Old Men: YYYYYThe more time that passes the more that I love this movie. It is just SO Coen brothers. If you liked Fargo, you'll like this movie. The two movies remind me a lot of each other. NCFOM has the same quiet, subtle feeling that Fargo had. The characters aren't big, loud, flashy, hyped up characters. That is what makes it so tense and enthralling I think. There is a scene in which a gas station owner gets into a conversation with Javier Bardem's character and it makes you almost want to jump out of your skin waiting for the kill to come. You can feel it there, coming for this old man, and you can see that he knows something isn't right and you just want to scream at him to RUN or something. It's a great scene. I will agree with some of the controversy about the end of the movie, to a point. I can see how some would be disappointed but I wasn't. I thought the end was true to the story. I don't see how it could have ended any other way. I don't want to give too much away and potentially ruin the end for any who haven't seen it, so I'll leave my thoughts on it at that. I loved this movie and Javier Bardem just HAS to win the Oscar. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you really have to.

So, in the next week before the Oscars I'm going to try and watch Michael Clayton, Away From Her, Juno, Eastern Promises and La Vie en Rose. I want to try to see as many movies that are nominated as I can. When I was at the theatre this weekend I saw that all AMC theatres are doing an Oscar marathon. This Saturday (the 23rd) they are showing all 5 Best Picture nominees in a row. It costs $30 and you get tickets to all 5 movies, a free Large Popcorn (with refills) and a "collectible pass". That's a great idea. I would totally go and do that but now I only need to see 2. So, if you're interested check it out here.

Atlantis Lifts Off

Great video! I love seeing that everything went well with the lift off and the crew is safely on their way to the space station. To read about the shuttle you can go here, and if you'd like to read more about the crew onboard you can go here.

Super Tuesday

I'm really excited about the results from yesterday. What I mean by that is I think it's really exciting that people feel they've got some great canidates to choose from. It's such a close race for the Dems and the GOP still has 3 in the race, and that's unusual for this late in the race. I think that is great. I think that shows that people are really taking their time deciding on which canidate is right for them. Hopefully this means we've still got some great debates coming in the future to help people make up their minds. I don't think I've seen people so excited about a race since the 92 election. Don't get me wrong, I'm still hoping that Barack Obama will pull it out in the end, but I look forward to the race to get there.

In other news 2 of my favorite reality shows start soon. Survivor: Micronesia Fans vs Favorites starts on Thursday and Big Brother 9 starts on Tuesday. I am SO excited for both. I'm really looking forward to Survivor. Last season was so great that I really think it gave a burst of new energy to the show. Besides, I love me some Jonny Fairplay. ; )

Yeah, Go Giants.

You gotta love the underdog winning. Wow... what an amazing end to the game. Loved it. :D I've put my favorite of the commercials in the video box above. Please to enjoy.
